Texas Junior State of America Winter Congress 2008 February 2008 Rep. Branch helped kick off Winter Congress Convention 2008 for the Texas chapter of the Junior State of America, delivering the keynote address during the opening ceremonies. High school students from Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Honduras were eager to begin a weekend full of policy debate and political deliberation. Founded by students for students in 1934, the Junior State of America serves students seeking to become active and informed citizens. Rep. Branch is briefed on the day's agenda by Texas JSA Chief of Staff Swati Goel in the greenroom before the ceremony.

Branch spoke to over 300 student from Texas and nearby states. His message was for the students to be active and thoughtful in pursuing their goals.

Surrounded by the 2008 Texas JSA cabinet, Branch delivered the keynote address.  Following the Q&A session, Branch honored and applauded each member of the cabinet.
